One arrested after armed robbery at bank in Montrose


first_imgUpdated 09:10pmONE PERSON HAS been arrested after an armed robbery on a bank at Montrose, south Dublin this morning.Two men held up a branch of Bank of Ireland at around 11.30am with a firearm, threatening staff at the bank on the Stillorgan Road.They left with a small amount of cash before making their getaway in a car.The car was later abandoned a short distance and set alight and the raiders sped off on a motorcycle towards the Sandymount area.A partially burnt out car is removed from the scene at Seamount apartments in Montrose near the robbery earlier (Image: Laura Hutton/Photocall Ireland).One of the suspects fell off the bike and was later arrested by gardaí. The man in his 30s is now being held at Irishtown Garda Station.
