Day laborer arrested in murder

first_imgWOODLAND HILLS – A 32-year-old Canoga Park man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in the death of a woman who was found in a car with her throat slashed, authorities said today. Miguel Guarhaj, a day laborer living in Canoga Park, was arrested Saturday at a Tarzana home where he was working, detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department said. Investigators searched Guarhaj’s residence and found the bloodied clothing and cell phone of Mayra A. Lopez, 24, of Canoga Park. She was the registered owner of the car in which she was found, which was discovered Friday in the 20300 block of Oxnard Street.
