He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home. Directed by Stafford Arima, the production, which is based on Takei’s childhood experience in a Japanese-American interment camp, is playing at Broadway’s Longacre Theatre.To celebrate the Great White Way premiere of this tale of family, love and patriotism set during World War II and beyond, Broadway.com resident artist Justin “Squigs” Robertson penned this portrait.
