Tagger ordered to pay $11,280 PICO RIVERA – An 18-year-old Pico Rivera man has been ordered by a court to pay the city more than $11,000 in restitution for tagging, officials said Wednesday. The man, described in court as a “major tagger,” was ordered to pay $11,280 after being convicted on several graffiti-related charges. WHITTIER – An 86-year-old man was robbed of $14,500 by two con men who convinced him to exchange the money for a winning lottery ticket, police said Wednesday. The incident occurred at about 3:30 p.m. Monday in the parking lot of the Whittier Market Place shopping center, where the con artists engaged the victim in conversation. From there, the group went to the victim’s home to retrieve the money. The group then drove back to the shopping center, where the scam artists pulled a knife on the victim and robbed him of the money. Police described the first assailant as Latino, 5 feet 6 inches tall, about 30 years old and weighing about 160 pounds. The other man also is Latino, around 50 years old, 5feet 6 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds. They drove off in a light gray, four-door, 2005 Chevrolet sedan. It had a possible partial license plate of 009.
